Crypto Evangelist Joins 12,000+ Innovators at Blockfest Africa 2025 — Africa’s Web3 Movement Enters a New Chapter

Africa’s blockchain and Web3 community united in Lagos for Blockfest Africa 2025, attracting more than 12,000 participants from over 50 countries. What unfolded wasn’t just an event — it was a milestone that confirmed Africa’s readiness to lead the global Web3 revolution.

Convened by Samuel Oladokun Olaoyenikan, founder of Nirvana Academy and widely known as XeusTheGreat, Blockfest Africa positioned Lagos as a continental hub for digital innovation. The festival, held on October 11, 2025, brought together founders, investors, developers, and policymakers under one vision — “One Vision. Infinite Impact.” Supported by leading blockchain brands such as Jeroid, CakeWallet, and Hyperbridge, the festival featured exhibitions, keynotes, and panel sessions designed to inspire African startups to build globally competitive blockchain products.

“The festival was created to encourage global domination by African founders in blockchain,” said Samuel Oladokun Olaoyenikan (XeusTheGreat). “There is a need for collaboration over competition — that’s how Africa will lead the next digital revolution.”

The three-day conference hosted 31 speakers from around the world, including policymakers and top industry leaders such as:

  • Dr. Emomotimi Agama, Director-General, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
  • Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development
  • Jeremiah Mayowa, CEO, Jeroid
  • Seun Lanlege, Co-founder, Hyperbridge
  • David Adegoke, Senior Mobile Engineer, CakeWallet
  • Idris Olubisi, Founder, Web3 Afrika

During his keynote, Hon. Ogunlende encouraged African youth to be creators rather than spectators in the digital economy:

“Don’t wait for the future — build it. Don’t just consume technology, create it.”

Dr. Agama urged participants to strengthen both their technical and legal foundations:

“Learn to code solidly, study digital laws, and understand decentralised finance.”

Meanwhile, Idris Olubisi spotlighted global pathways for African developers, describing the H1B visa as “a window for African tech talent to make a global impact.”

The event drew strong support from ecosystem partners such as Sui, Jupiter Nigeria, Huele Bien, Gidi Real Estate Investment Limited, Avalanche Team1, Africa.Somi, and FanYogo, which provided refreshments to over 4,000 attendees.

Representatives of the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, reaffirmed their commitment to youth empowerment and the formulation of progressive blockchain policy frameworks.

Over 7,000 participants joined virtually, bringing total attendance beyond 12,000 — marking Blockfest Africa as one of the continent’s largest blockchain gatherings to date.

Reflecting on the festival’s impact, Olaoyenikan said,

“The goal is not just to stay in pipelines but to be relevant on global platforms.”
